About the Red Panda
Wild Life Status
Endangered
According to the World Wild Life Foundation, there are less than 10,000 Red Pandas left in the wild.
Habitat
The Red pandas live in the mountains of Nepal and northern Myanmar (Burma), as well as in central China. Nearly 50% of the Red Panda's habitat is in the beautiful Himalayan Mountain range. They enjoy the rainy, high-altitude forest that the mountains provide.
Lifestyle
Red Pandas live up in the tree tops, making them skilled tree climbers. Technically an omnivore, the Red Panda really stays as a herbivore eating plants and bamboo. Their bushy red tail allows for balance as well as warmth throughout the winter months. The Red Panda frequently likes to have fun and play with themselves or each other as well.
